The 368th Barn Quilt in Shawano County was installed at the Mike & Connie Rohloff family residence in Krakow.
The theme of the quilt is called “Inspiration from Within”. The quilt was installed on a recently built workshop that Connie will use to work on a multitude of projects to sell in stores and online for her company, CR Inspirations. The quilt design was chosen to represent the inspiration and ideas that dwell inside all of us.
The workshop was built on an old alfalfa field that Mike and Connie purchased from her parents, Roger and Emily Neumann, in 2002, shortly after they got married. Looking further back, the land was sold from the State of Wisconsin to Shawano County in 1880. In 1890 Anton Marszelski purchased the land and it remained in their family for 74 years. From there it was owned by Anderson (1964-68) and Matczak (1968-77) families before Connie’s parents purchased the land in 1977.
Inside the workshop, there are plenty of reminders of their agricultural pasts, as both Mike and Connie grew up on dairy farms and remain active in the dairy industry to this day. The inside walls are decorated with barn boards from Connie’s parents barn, which was damaged in a tornado in 2017. There are also several old farm antiques that line the walls of the workshop. Connie enjoys working with barn boards and other farm type antiques and that’s the focal point of her business.
Mike and Connie have 2 kids. Bryce will be a Senior and McKenna will be a freshman at Pulaski High School. Mike works with dairy farmers and veterinarians at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health and Connie milks part time at a local dairy farm.
Special thanks to Danny’s Carpentry for their fine work in constructing this workshop.
Come along as I tell you a story of how my shed was built..
Lost in the whispers of the wind, amidst blades of grass, with arms wide open and a head full of ideas... come along, as I tell a story of how my shed was built.
Are you ready to get your hands dirty and build something amazing?
There is nothing quite like the thrill of starting a project, moving mountains of dirt, and watching your vision take shape.
Let's embark on this journey of creation together.
From the groundwork to growth! Setting up forms for a solid foundation is the first step in building dreams. Can't wait to see this shed take shape!
From raw lumber to a sturdy shed frame in just a few hours! Building dreams one board at a time!
The lumbar got delivered in the afternoon and I headed to the farm to do chores. Much to my surprise this is what was standing once I got back from milking! Pure joy and happiness on my face!
