“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” – Zig Ziglar
March has been a month of stepping out of my comfort zone in the best (and scariest) way possible. I did my first-ever Instagram Live, and let me tell you—it was a rollercoaster of emotions!
I was nervous and excited all at once. The anticipation of going live, not knowing exactly what to expect, had my heart racing. I kept thinking: What if I mess up? What if no one shows up? What if I completely freeze? But despite all those worries, I knew I had to do it.
The moment I tried to go live, things didn’t go as planned. Technical difficulties decided to join me on this new adventure, making it a bit more stressful than I had hoped. I struggled to connect, and for a moment, I wondered if this was a sign to just give up. But then, I reminded myself—this was a learning experience, and hiccups happen!
Once I finally got on, something amazing happened. Seeing smiling and encouraging faces in the chat instantly made me feel at ease. Knowing that people were there, cheering me on, turned my nerves into gratitude. It reminded me that sometimes, the fear of starting is bigger than the actual experience itself.
Doing this live was a reminder that growth happens when we do things scared. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real, and that’s what mattered. I learned so much in just that one session.
Special thanks to Stephanie @the.mothersden for putting this event together for new sellers on Instagram. All of your tips, words of encouragement and knowledge shared means more to me than you know! I would also like to thank Ginny @punkins_junkin_ginny and Michelle @palmbayvintageco (fellow newbies) for doing another live with me days later, things went smoother and I didn't have any technical issues this time thankfully.
After those two lives, I started feeling more comfortable and in the flow. That momentum led me to hop on another New Seller Live with the amazing Angie @2ndlovethrifter and Deb @farmhouseandvintage. These two incredible women have been hosting lives for a long time, and their welcoming and inclusive energy made all the difference.
Also thankful for the Trip Down Memory Lane Marathon hosted by Martha @the_vintage_bulle and Robin @junebuginc!
Let me just say—I was beyond grateful and blessed after those 15 minutes. The support was overwhelming: comments, likes, follows and purchases. It was such a heartwarming experience, and I can’t thank this community enough for embracing me with open arms.
If you’ve been thinking about doing something new but fear is holding you back, this is your sign to go for it! You’ll never feel 100% ready, and that’s okay. Just take the leap—you might surprise yourself.
I’d Love to Hear From You!
